He came back in the 8th over to get the big wicket of Sanju Samson for 35 (19 balls) and Ben Stokes (0) to hand Mumbai the edge. However, Smith batted brilliantly with able support from Parag at the other end as the duo added 69 runs for the fourth wicket and helped Rajasthan register their third win of IPL 2019 season. It is an important win for Rajasthan as Smith’s men stay alive in the race for the playoffs. With six points from 9 matches, the former champions are still at the seventh spot of the eight-team table.advertisementEarlier in the day, Quinton de Kock hit his third fifty of the ongoing IPL season to help Mumbai Indians post 161 for 5 on a two-paced wicket. Mumbai Indians were jolted early as Gopal had picked up captain Rohit Sharma for 5 in his first over.De Kock stitched a 97-run stand with Suryakumar Yadav, who took his time early on to settle into the innings, for the second wicket stand. However, Mumbai lost a bit of momentum towards the middle overs as medium pacer Stuart Binny snapped the 97-run stand in the 14th over. After the big stand, one wicket brought a couple more as de Kock and Kieron Pollard followed Suryakumar back to the hut in quick succession.Mumbai went past the 150-run mark despite the dip in momentum in the 19th over as Jaydev Unadkat was taken to the cleaners by Hardik Pandya. Pandya played another important cameo for Mumbai Indians, smashing a 15-ball 23, including a six and two boundaries.Ben Cutting took Mumbai past the 160-run mark with a huge six in the final ball of their innings against Jofra Archer. Also Read | IPL 2019: Steve Smith takes over Rajasthan Royals captaincy from Ajinkya RahaneAlso Read | Steve Smith on replacing Ajinkya Rahane as RR captain: Owners felt need for changeAlso Read | Rajasthan Royals have to treat every game like final, feels Ben StokesFor sports news, updates, live scores and cricket fixtures, log on to indiatoday.in/sports.
