Black Stars reduce Asokwa Deportivo to rags ahead of Egypt World Cup playoffs

first_imgThe Black Stars hammered Asokwa Deportivo, a Kumasi based second division side 7-1 in a feisty warm-up game ahead of the World Cup play-off against the Pharoahs of Egypt.Udinese based Emmanuel Agyemang Badu led what appeared to be the second string side of the Stars and opened the goal harvest with a thumping header from a sumptuous David Addy cross on the left in the 28th minute.But the lead lasted for just a minute. The youngsters drew level courtesy a superb shot by Michael Gyamfi just at the edge of the 18 yard box beating Adam Kwarasey in the process.Russia based Wakasu fired the Stars back into the lead with a thunderbolt from 30 yards leaving the Deportivo goal keeper completely beaten.Daniel Opare advertised a great overlapping run on the right and whipped in a cross from close range but the Deportivo defender under pressure to clear his lines tapped the ball into his own net for the Stars’ third.Mahatma Otoo headed in from close range to end the first half which was a little less competitive.
